Stand Up Paddle Surfing (SUP) is a sport whose roots run deep in Hawaiian history. In the 1940's, Waikiki's beach boys used single blade "kanu" paddles to propel their oversized surfboards to watch over their guests. Fast forward 60 years and Stand Up Paddling is one of the fastest growing water sports in the world! It is an amazing and fun new way to experience the abundance of lakes, rivers and coastlines!
SUP Kulture was formed to encourage Hoe he'e nalu (Hawaiian for - Stand up paddle surfing) and the amazing feeling of walking on water on Lake Havasu. Our goal is to introduce the sport of stand up paddle boarding to all ages.
Stand Up Paddling is easy to learn and is a non-intimidating activity that appeals to all ages and physical abilities. Participants are able to quickly progress and develop the skills necessary to improve fitness or simply enjoy the experience of "walking on water"! Stand Up Paddling is a multi dimensional sport that promotes balance, strength, and endurance and is one of the best workouts for developing core strength and overall fitness. The benefits of such have been realized by professional athletes, celebrities and weekend warriors alike, from alpine skiers, to tri-athletes!
